Overview of Workshop
This workshop was designed to enable participants at all levels in their career to gain a deep understanding and insight into their own and others behaviours and what drives those behaviours.
Developing a powerful influencing style is career enhancing and demonstrating powerful influencing skills is often the determining factor in interview and promotion success.
Participants learnt about DiSC and the 3 most powerful techniques to significantly improve communication and influencing skills, covering theoretical concepts and pragmatic application in a work environment.
What is DiSC?
DiSC is one of the leading behavioural profiling tools in the world. DiSC is a powerful emotional intelligence tool, enabling high levels of self awareness. DiSC also creates greater awareness of others behaviour and unlocks the secrets to managing, influencing and servicing different types of people.

FITT's October Career Management Event sponsored by Hudson was a great success. Attendees were treated to gourmet hors d'oeuvres and drinks while enjoying networking to the backdrop of panoramic harbour vistas from Hudson's spectacular venue.

Career Management and Executive Coach Dr Annie Stewart's career sustainability insights from her latest research were well received and resonated deeply with the audience. Hudson's Stephanie Heasman provided valuable information on employment trends that provided considerable food for thought and stimulated audience discussion. Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive! Caroline Molloy was the lucky winner of Hudson's door prize, a Tailored Career Review and Coaching Program, valued at $2,500!

IT Trends 2007 – Annual FITT Lunch

At IT Trends 2007, FITT’s annual review of where the industry is headed, we were fortunate to hear from two of Australia’s most prominent IT leaders – Tracey Fellows, Managing Director, Microsoft Australia and Merle Singer, Director, Culture and Reputation, Dimension Data.
Tracey spoke about Microsoft’s attention to gender diversity, mentoring in the organisation and mobility enabling a more flexible work environment for staff. Merle updated the group on the Green CIO and how we can all do simple things to reduce our energy consumption and use technology to adopt more environmentally friendly practices. The event was a sell-out with over 225 people attending from a diverse range of organisations including Cisco, Singtel Optus, Vodafone, Network Appliance, Dell, Testpro, WebCentral, ZDNet Australia, Wacom, Dimension Data, Microsoft, IBM, HP, Westfield, UTS, TafeNSW, Thoughtworks, Telstra and many more.
There were some terrific prize giveaways including a HTC Touch donated by Microsoft, a Bamboo Graphics tablet from WACOM, a Linksys Router from Cisco and a Jurlique Spa voucher from Thoughtworks.

of the American Club, overlooking the Botanical Gardens and
the Opera House.

FITT May Breakfast & Free Tour of CeBIT- held Thursday 3 May 2007
Held at The Ballroom, Citigate Central Hotel in Haymarket, Sydney, this breakfast on ICT Careers was attended by 120 people and 40 went on the CeBIT Exhibition Tour. The 4 panel speakers made a great impression with their career pathways and other 5 members who had volunteered to talk about their careers had helpful suggestions for attendees.
