Let us explain – don’t we do this all the time as females in the workplace?! Starting 2021, with the taint of 2020, has been very much like the flow of IWD over the years – more work for females to justify more of what should be equitable. It may sound a tad angry and fed up, but it was definitely a vibe.
On that note, FitT decided that rather than go into 2021 International Women’s Day with more of what work we could do for others, we’d focus on you; the best version of you in fact, whether that be crafting your best video cover letter to apply for work, putting your best face forward for business over video conferencing aka Zoom, or breaking down how to start your own side hustle. Missing face to face interaction and feeling brave, we decided that on the cusp of starting back in-office work, we’d hold both online and face to face events (in Sydney and Melbourne) with our friends at Ernst and Young.
The face to face event was intimate and enthusiastic (socially distanced, but enthusiastic enough to share in a live presentation and a glass of wine!) and the online audience was kept informed and entertained, hopefully enjoying the event goodie bag that included makeup and a glow light.
Thank you to our wonderful presenters on the day:
– Paul Sproule – Cloudvision
– Deepika Rodrigo – Nibble Digital
– Caroline Stanbury – Smitten Cosmetics
We’d also like to thank you for your continual support. FitT would not be able to be run without the pure grit and dedication of our volunteer organisation, or our members and sponsors that continually support us to support you. Networking and connection for professionals is what we do best, and we hope that this year and for at least another 30 years to come, we can continue to support and connect you with the opportunities you deserve to shine.
Keep an eye out on our website for more events to come.
